Now after all the reviews, opinions and criticisms about the final game it is time to find out as to what is on the menu for the events of PAUCA 2009 BASH.Can someone or people responsible shed some light as to the break down of events on Sept 27th in terms of Trophy ceremony, prize money that will be given to the winners and runnerup teams and individual performance trophies and what criteria will be determined in handing over the individual trophies.Apart from dancing and drinking :) will there be any events for the kids. Thanks

First of all let me congratulate you and your team for winning the tournament. I think you guys played great the entire season and finshed it off well.
About being the event organizer .. I'm not sure of you really want me to cos I hope you know where I'm going with this!! Rolling Eyes
I think its not fair that last year we had this in the rules and the winning team wasn't awarded any cash prize and they were informed after the bash that there is no money in the fund!!
You might have a good reason for not disclosing it but we(PAUCA) should have atleast informed all the captians about the situation. The least we could have done was waive off their entry fee this year. If the prize money was is the budget how could we end up spending it?? I hope we don't repeat the same mistake this year !!
I'm not trying to point fingers here and I know you guys have worked very hard to get us this far and I'm sure everybody appreciates that but at the same time incidents like this tend to leave a bitter taste. I hope you don't take this as a criticism but as a constructive suggestion from a team captain because at the end of the day its the teams which may PAUCA a successful association.
You may have heard this before but once again on behalf of UCC I would like to thank you for all the hard work you guys have put into this.
Regards,
Anzar

Hello Anzar,

Out of all 400 members of PAUCA you are the only one who is interested in pointing out such thing, even though you don’t want to. Pointing out things is the easiest job anybody can do that with very less or no efforts.

LAGAAN who won last year was under informed because that was the first time us organizing Bash. HACC who won this year is aware about this and has no complains.

As you all know, our commitment is towards PAUCA and not individuals who have their own views on how things should be done and planned. When we think, we think about everybody. We make decision based on people’s interest and not worry about “how an individual will think about us.”

This is for the Cricket and to bring best for our community. We do think that team who win the Tournament should get something in return. PAUCA Bash is way to appreciate all participants and give awards like it supposed to. Bash also brings families together.

Your concern is money after all it is more important then playing cricket. I have to explain this to everybody one day, so that day is today.

We generate financial statement every year. There are line of items that says about expanse and income. If you have any question about particular line of item then I have to give explanation about that particular line. Now, in order for you (or anybody for matter of fact) to understand the line you have to be involved constantly in handling that line from start to end.

As you said, there are so many things that go along with money which makes this PAUCA a successful tournament. Teams are one of them, mind well, with teams and money just by itself can not be a successful tournament.

Anyways, we have informed everybody in public that we are not going to give any cash price. If everybody thinks that we should give cash price and not organize bash we will do that. But at this time, we are in mood of BASH.

I know now, you will dig deep down the root to get something else to answer this forum, but hay ONCE AGAIN TO KNOW THE ANSWERS YOU HAVE TO BE PART OF QUEST.

Its the matter of principal and out of the 400 people if I'm the only one bringing it up .. it doesn't make it wrong !! Anyway you may NEVER understand. You have answered your own questions...I rest my case !!

Hello all,

Bash event is the perfect way of getting together & meet different people with lots of delicious food and other activities. This is the main purpose of this event & there is nothing wrong with this. Just remember that we play cricket for fun not for money.

Thank you Kindly
See you @ the party.

If common sense prevails we all in PAUCA know that nobody plays for money, but we all play the game of cricket we love so much and grew up wherever playing it.From all the above discussions what I understand is that we dont want the same mistake committed last year to be repeated in the near future and whatever rules and prize money etc etc...are promised in the start of the PAUCA season should be fulfilled as promised irrespective of shortage of funds as that is not an excuse and the money should be been spent sensiby in the BASH after handing over the prize money OR if there is shortage of funds then the winning team should be reimbursed in the next PAUCA cricketing season.I am not pointing fingers but this is my opinion .Thanks

My friends,

Everyone concerned about the cash prizes, and ones who are bringing about the issue; Please read the following from the Pauca rules:

Note: All the Cash prizes are contingent upon leagues financial situation at the end of the season. All these cash prizes were initially projected with 16 teams in the league, but we have only 10 (Atif says: now 12) teams. However, PAUCA will try everything possible to make this happen.

If still concerned, wait till the financial statement is issued, or if all possible request one from the management. I have utter confidence in the management to do the best for this league.

All PAUCA Friends,
We all have faith and utmost confidence in the present PAUCA management. The point some people are trying to potray is "PRINCIPLE".If your'll read Anzar statement below what does that mean.

"I think its not fair that last year we had this in the rules and the winning team wasn't awarded any cash prize and they were informed after the bash that there is no money in the fund!! "

The whole thing is not about Cash prizes or whatever, it is a matter of "PRINCIPLE" again which I repeat. And it terms of cricketing season ends does that include the BASH or excludes the BASH.
I THINK FROM THE LAST FOUR OR FIVE YEARS NO ONE HAS QUESTIONED THE PAUCA MANAGEMENT BECAUSE WE ALL HAVE FAITH AND THEY HAVE DONE A GOOD JOB.
I THINK IT WILL BE A GOOD IDEA TO CLOSE THIS TOPIC.Thanks
