Friends,

Both teams lost their respective semi finals. HACC to FCC and PakXI to Tigers. FCC went to win the firs ever Pauca Tournament.
2005 PAUCA Qualifier Tournament
=======================
Desiboyz again lost to Tigers in the semifinal. Tigers then lost their second straight final this time to HACC.
2005 PAUCA Championship Cup
=====================
HACC lost to LL in the Wildcard Playoff. Desiboyz defeated LL in the semi final and went to win their first final against India-XI.
2006
====
This time both teams reached the final. Desiboyz out batted HACC in a 150 run chase to win their second straight tournament.
2007
====
Again both teams met in the final. This time HACC took revenge for the lost from year before in a bowling showdown, for their second tournamen win.
2008
====
This meeting between the two took place in the semi final. Desiboys moved a head, only to lose to the LAGAANies.

Akash Patel was almost perfect. The HACC still are.
Their poised and prolific cricket knocked another mark out of the books in their record-breaking season by winning all regular season games to lead HACC to third PAUCA championship game with a 2 wicket victory over the Desiboyz on Sunday night.
Rakesh and his youthful team never lost their composure on Sunday in their game against the Desiboyz. HACC is the only team to go unbeaten from the first game of the season through the Championship.
DK (Divyang Patel) surrounded by small of victory, governed every ball on the field and powered every shot he played.
This is a victory that we all will remember for years to come. Thanks a millions to all supports on the ground. |

First of all let me start by Congratulating HACC for winning PAUCA 2009 Tournament.The game although was low scoring,but was an evenly contested game till the end.Turning point for the Desi Boys was ALI being runout and that gave huge releif to the HACC team as he had just started to deliver some knock out punches and was looking dangerous.He had been the most consistent scorer for Desi boys and his team mates have to realize to sacrifice their wickets to keep him on the field and that was the mistake commited by Vicki.Had he been there on the ground it could have been a different story and Desi Boys could have piled up another 20 or more odd runs which in turn could have given confidence to the lower order batsmen.Also in terms of bowling where was Atif in the critical stages of the match.With his experience and tight line and length he could have contained the HACC team to a certain extent as he has been the most economical bowler for Desi Boys.I think in these type of games EXPERIENCE prevails over YOUTH ( Jabbar Khan ) and Atif should have been used intelligently.These are the Lessons that needs to be learnt and my Hats off to HACC for being the undefeated team in the tournament.

I would like to congratulate HACC for their victory in the finals and their undefeated season...Desiboyz tried their best in trying to defend a small total of 64 but came up short because of the cool and composed Akash...He never lost focus when all his teammates were falling around him and he eventually found a partner in DK to take them to their target.
I would like to congratulate my team for putting up one hell of a fight in the finals. I would also like to be a little selfish and brag about what my team has accomplished in the past five years...
2 PAUCA CHAMPIONSHIP TROPHIES
3 PAUCA RUNNER-UP TROPHIES
2 YCC TOURNAMENT TROPHIES (i know pauca doesn't state these under accomplishments even though its the same teams that play both tournaments plus more from out of state...Its still an accomplishment by our team that I'm very proud of.)
The only reason for stating these accomplishments is to cheer my team up. I know some people might say you could mention this to them personally but trust me doing it here will feel much better to them, knowing others will also be reminded of what DesiBoyz have accomplished. I know a lot of us were a little down on losing are 3rd straight finals. I want them to know we've picked up more hardware than any team and can hold are heads high.
Lastly I'd like to thank PAUCA for another successful season of organizing cricket in the Harrisburg area. Waiting for another year of exciting cricket next year. Hopefully next year we can get the gorilla off our back. He's getting a little heavier each year .
Once again congratulations to HACC on another PAUCA championship.

Let me start by congratulating HACC on a well deserved win. However, Nileshbhai no offense but this is HACC's 2nd tittle per Atifbhai's Statistics not 3rd. lol.
All said and done, Akash was brilliant and singlehandedly won the game. Well done HACC.
Tanveerbhai, just some clarifications. Cricket is not about an individual, but is a team sport. Ali's wicket may have been crucial but it was a collective batting failure that led to such an abysmal score from Desiboyz. Also, between PAUCA and YCC tournaments, Desiboyz has the maximum tournament victories, more than any other team in Harrisburg. All, those victories came when Ali was not in the team. In fact that team had no super stars, just hardcore performers. Not to make excuses, but we did loose 5 of our playing 11 over the last two years and since then have not been able to fill the void. However, i am positive that Desiboyz are fighters and will come back strong next year.
Going back to the final game, we did make some tactical errors. However, hindsight is 20:20 and we can't brood over it anymore. HACC played a remarkable game and they should get full credit for the win.

You are absolutely right TejasBhai that cricket is a team's game and does not depend on individual's performances,but at the same time one has to remember that individual performances do matter in these kind of closely contested games where both the teams (HACC and Desiboys ) failed miserably in their batting, not to take credit away from the bowlers of both the teams who bowled a superb line and length and as I said the difference in the game was AKASH and ALI who have the capability in turning anygame into match winners and in this game it was done by AKASH who batted sensibly .This also has been said by you (TejasBhai ) in your statement above
"All said and done, Akash was brilliant and singlehandedly won the game".
As per the number of victories in PAUCA and YCC tournaments YES AGREED that Desiboys have the most number of victories,but one has to remember that the competition has become fierce in the last 2 years and the quality of playing cricket has improved and loosing players is not an excuse for any team as other teams have lost players too .With this said I salute both the teams in playing such good,quality and competitive cricket and hope to see may more games like these in the near future.Also to mention that two best catches taken in this game were by ADNAN ( Desiboys ) and AKASH ( Hacc ) .Again these are all individual views and they may vary with other individual's.Lastly,I congratulate HACC once again for winning the PAUCA 2009 tournament.See you Guys in 2010 :) |

As we all know Cricket is a game of gentlemen and both teams have shown exemplary sportmanship and spirit when playing Finals. Congrats to HACC and Desiboyz. Mistakes are bound to happen when in pressure. I think that's what turned around the match against Desiboyz in the midst of some ghastly decisions.
While Aakash played a well poised innings for his team, DK shares same in building up the momentum. It's only after DK opened his bat to start hitting, Aakash hit next 2 4s of the innings which gave an edge to HACC to win the match. Congrats DK and ofcourse, Aakash.
Adil, Sham, Ali were expendable in their bowling and made the match more interesting.
Thanks for not make us think we wasted our beautiful Sunday afternoon.

In my previous post I had mentioned two best catches that were taken were by ADNAN ( DESIBOYS ) and AKASH ( HACC ) IN THE FINALS.I like to make correction that it was RAKESH ( HACC ) and not AKASH ( HACC ) who took a superb catch on the run to get Srikanth ( desiboys ) out.So it was
ADNAN ---DESIBOYS
RAKESH --- HACC

Thank you for congratulating HACC.
As we say always, victory could have walked with either of the team. Desiboyz put up best brawl; I was going in flashback and remembering every shot and every ball that we have playing in past few years finals. The execution of this game was more then words can explain. This is most attractive game of PAUCA. The clash of these 2 teams always corner biggest number of audience.
I am so happy to be here at this moment "N"Joying the cricket which many people just can dream of.
All 15 players of HACC are experiencing dope like peace. |

I completely agree with Nilesh... The excitement of the final was amazing. Win or Loose, we all certainly form some good friendships and have a good time.
See you all at the Bash....
